Rosemary Beach Hands Each Green a Different Fall Job

Rosemary Beach's fall calendar is easiest to read by location. Each event has a regular home, and the same few lawns and squares show up month after month. North Barrett Square holds the Sunday routine. St. Augustine Green has become an outdoor stage. East Long Green is where the kids' events go. South Barrett Square has hosted the holiday events. The town's construction calendar keeps the hammers quiet on the weekends when those spaces are busiest. Once you know which green does which job, the season stops being a list of dates and turns into a map you can walk.

North Barrett Square Sets the Weekly Baseline

Every other event this fall happens around one fixed appointment. The 30A Farmers' Market runs Sundays year-round from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the Rosemary Beach event listing. The 30A.com listing for Sunday, October 4, 2026, puts it at 28 N. Barrett Square.

"Year-round" means there's no fall shutdown or reduced off-season schedule. The market keeps its four-hour Sunday morning slot through October, Thanksgiving weekend and into winter. This matters more than it sounds, because the town's own rules keep Sundays quiet. Rosemary Beach's standing work rules prohibit Sunday work unless written permission has been granted. So the market runs every week on the one day the construction rules already keep quiet.

St. Augustine Green Became a Theater

The clearest sign that the greens can carry more than lawn games came this month. 30A Playhouse, working with the Rosemary Beach Merchants Association, staged "Grease the Musical" on St. Augustine Green. WJHG reported that the second weekend of performances ran October 1 through 4 at 7 p.m., with tickets at $25. Jesse Wilkerson played Danny Zuko and Sydney Walker played Sandy, backed by live music, dancing and the hand jive.

A full musical running across more than one weekend takes a lot from a lawn: evening hours, a cast, an audience on blankets or chairs, and a staging area that has to hold up night after night. WJHG described the production as part of a wider effort by Panama City Theatre Nonprofit and 30A Playhouse to expand access to live theatre across Panama City, the Beaches and the 30A community. For Rosemary Beach, that makes St. Augustine Green a working venue in a regional theater program, which is a bigger role than a pretty patch of grass between buildings.

The Quiet Weekends Follow the Busy Ones

The town's 2026 no-workdays calendar lines up closely with its event calendar. These are the dates when construction work is barred:

  • Owners Weekend: Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10
  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, Nov. 26, through Saturday, Nov. 28
  • Christmas: Thursday, Dec. 24, through Saturday, Dec. 26

The Thanksgiving block covers the 30A 10K morning on Nov. 26. It also covers Nov. 27, the date a nonofficial events directory lists for this year's tree lighting. If you're scheduling a contractor, a delivery or a punch-list visit for those weeks, plan the work for the days around those dates.

East Long Green Takes Halloween

The next event is on Saturday, Oct. 24, and it uses two spaces at once. The Trick or Treat! Halloween Bash listing says participating merchants in Town Center will hand out candy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Kids Halloween Bash runs from 2 to 5 p.m. on East Long Green. The listing encourages costumes and files the event under Merchants Association Events.

Because the two parts overlap, the day naturally has two halves. Town Center trick-or-treating carries the morning and early afternoon. Then the crowd shifts to East Long Green for the last three hours. A family arriving at 2 p.m. can do both, finishing the shop route before the green fills up.

If you've been around a few years, check the name. An older Rosemary Beach page still advertises a "Monstrous Halloween Bash" dated Oct. 26, 2024, and it's marked finished. The 2026 event is the Trick or Treat! Halloween Bash on Oct. 24.

Barrett Square Hosts Thanksgiving Morning

The 15th annual 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day Races bring the busiest morning of the fall to Rosemary Beach. The race operator's schedule for 2026:

  1. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Packet pickup at The Big Chill. There is no race-day pickup.
  2. Thursday, Nov. 26, 7:30 a.m.: The 10K starts, open to ages 6 and up.
  3. 7:35 a.m.: The 1-mile fun run starts.
  4. 9:30 a.m.: The 5K starts.
  5. After the races: Awards ceremony and post-race party in Barrett Square.

Registration is $95 for the 10K or the 5K and $45 for the fun run. Prices for the two longer races go up after 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 30. Fun-run registration closes Nov. 24. The post-race celebration includes a DJ, local vendors, breakfast and a complimentary Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. The series runs as a 501(c)(3) and says it has raised more than $1 million for charity partners. Southern Living named it one of the top 10 turkey trots in the South.

For anyone living in town, the most useful detail is the layout. The start and finish lines are in Rosemary Beach, and the flat course runs along 30A past the dune lakes. That puts the town at the center of the morning, with the 10K start at 7:30 and the 5K not starting until 9:30. If you want a quiet holiday breakfast at home, two hours of races followed by a party in the square is the window to plan around. The packet pickup rule matters too. Anyone hosting family who wants to run needs to get to The Big Chill on Wednesday, since there's no pickup on race day.

South Barrett Square and Western Green Wait for Their 2026 Dates

Holiday events on the greens are where you have to separate the pattern from what's confirmed. In 2025, Rosemary Beach's official event pages showed a clear Thanksgiving-week lineup from the Merchants Association:

  • Nov. 26, 2025, 6 to 8 p.m.: Moonlight & Movies with "Elf" on Western Green
  • Nov. 28, 2025, 6 to 6:30 p.m.: Tree lighting ceremony in South Barrett Square
  • Dec. 13, 2025, noon to 3 p.m.: S'mores & Santa with professional photos in South Barrett Square

Taken together, those listings give each lawn a role. Western Green holds the evening screening, and South Barrett Square holds the lights and Santa. A nonofficial events directory lists the 2026 tree lighting for Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. in South Barrett Square, with carolers and Santa. No official Rosemary Beach page has confirmed that date yet. The official Rosemary Beach Foundation events category currently shows no events. Treat Nov. 27 as likely but unconfirmed, and check the Merchants Association calendar before inviting guests around it.

The Rooftop Above the Greens

Fall in Rosemary Beach also has a new place to eat. Havana Beach Bar & Grill at The Pearl Hotel has a new executive chef, Jordan Economy, a New Orleans native with more than two decades of opening and leading restaurants around the country. According to a July 27, 2026, profile from St. Joe Resort Experiences, he has introduced a new menu at the Havana Beach Rooftop and rotating Chef's Table specials in the main dining room. New additions include charred octopus with tahini mousse and preserved lemon, curated oyster selections, seafood towers and butcher boards.

"Spending time doing a little 30A shopping myself sparked a lot of the inspiration. Some incredible local ingredients and products provided the foundation for many of the new dishes."

The posted hours work well with the green calendar. Brunch runs daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 9 p.m. The bar and rooftop, weather permitting, are open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The profile notes that seasonal hours apply, so confirm with Havana Beach before planning a post-race brunch or a dinner after the Halloween Bash.
